Center New wooden Altar at St. Lucia's Cathedral Colombo

Most Rev. Dr. Anton Ranjith blessed the new center altar at St. Lucia's Cathedral Colombo on Tuesday, October 26. The altar is made out of teak with the donations of the parishioners. The pillars resemble the back marble altar. During the concelebrated Holy Eucharist in his homily, Bishop Anton explained that the altar was at the center of the temple during the Old Testament times. Today the altar is the cynosure of the church where the Eucharist is celebrated, resembling the supreme act of sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Bishop Anton invited the people to become self-sacrificing altars. Fr. Kithsiri Thirimanne, the canon of the Cathedral, offered gratitude to all.

Praise the Lord.
