With deep sorrow, the Archdiocese of Colombo announces the passing of Rev. Fr. Wickrema Fonseka. We commend his soul to the mercy of God and invite the clergy, religious, and lay faithful to pray for the repose of his soul and to give thanks for his priestly ministry.

Funeral Details

The mortal remains of Rev. Fr. Wickrema Fonseka will be brought to the Sacred Heart Chapel, Archbishop’s House on Tuesday, 24th February at 4.00 p.m.

Thereafter, his remains will be transferred to St. Joseph’s Church, Thillanduwa, Negombo on Wednesday, 25th February at 10.00 a.m.

The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 3.00 p.m., followed by burial at Thillanduwa Church cemetery.
