Holy Mass for the Departed Soul of Pope Francis with the Sri Lankan Community in Rome
On Sunday, 2025-04-27, the second day of the Novemdiales, a solemn Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of His Holiness Pope Francis was celebrated at the Shrine dedicated to the Virgin of Revelation (Tre Fontane Grotto) in Rome.
His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, presided over the celebration, gathering the Sri Lankan Catholic community in Rome along with Archdiocesan priests serving there. Among those present were Rev. Fr. Sanjeewa Mendis, National Coordinator for Immigrants in Italy, and Msgr. Neville Joe Perera of the Diocese of Rome, along with other priests.
The Mass was offered as a prayerful expression of gratitude and deep affection for the life, ministry, and example of Pope Francis, invoking eternal rest for his soul.
