A special stage presentation titled Santhalokaya, based on the life and mission of Sri Lanka’s Apostle, St. Joseph Vaz, was recently held at the auditorium of Holy Cross Girls' School.
The event was organized to commemorate and reflect on the pioneering role played by St. Joseph Vaz in strengthening and uplifting the Christian community in Sri Lanka during a challenging period in the country’s history.
The stage show was held under the patronage of His Lordship Bishop J.D. Antony Jayakody, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo. Also in attendance were the Administrator of Kandana Shrine, Rev. Fr. Srinath Manoj, together with several other Reverend Fathers, religious sisters, teachers, students, and invitees.
The production was presented by the teaching staff of St. Sebastian Girls' School under the leadership of the Principal, Mrs. Sajini Silva. The drama was developed according to a concept introduced by the Principal and was warmly appreciated by the audience for its spiritual and cultural value.
Through music, drama, and storytelling, Santhalokaya highlighted the dedication, sacrifices, and missionary zeal of St. Joseph Vaz, inspiring the audience to reflect on faith, service, and commitment to the Church.
