The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
Introduction
At the climax of the year we acclaim Christ the King, whose throne is the Cross and whose reign is peace. He is the image of the invisible God, through whom all things are reconciled. With the good thief we beg, “Remember me,” and we hear the King’s royal promise of Paradise.

Prayers of the Faithful
- 1. For the Church: that, united under Christ our Head, we may bear His peace to the world. We pray to the Lord.
- 2. For civil leaders and all in authority: that they govern with justice, integrity, and care for the common good. We pray to the Lord.
- 3. For the poor, the despised, and the imprisoned: that they may know the nearness of the Crucified King. We pray to the Lord.
- 4. For the conversion of hearts: that sinners may hear Christ’s word, “You will be with me in Paradise.” We pray to the Lord.
- 5. For our community: that our worship today lead us to serve Christ our King in the least of His brothers and sisters. We pray to the Lord.
